WELCOME TO SHOAVEI MAYIM

Shoavei Mayim was established in 2003 as a small makom Torah and Tefila for young balei batim in the heart of Toronto’s Orthodox Jewish community (Bathurst-Lawrence). Now under the leadership of Rav Yoir Adler Shlita, the Shul, in our beautiful new Bais Medrash, has grown to over 90 families, with multiple Shiurim, Chaburos, programming and services for our membership and community at large.

Covid-19 Safety Plan

1. Keeping members safe - know how we are able to keep our
memebers safe from exposure to COVID-19
Actions:
 Daily Screening of staff
 Contact tracing for service attendance
 Mask compulsory policy
 Provide free masks at all entrances
 Social distancing
 Ten people per service
 Option for online with Zoom
 Daily cleaning of high touch points
 Advancing cleaning three times per week
 Comprehensive signage communication plan

2. Shul screening for COVID-19
Actions:
 Self screening at the door (posted sign with self assessment questions)
 Weekly written screening for ALL attendees (online questioner)
 Appoint monitors (Gabboim) to be on the watch for people with symptoms
 Staff screening log (located in coatroom)

3. Control plan for the risk of transmission in Shul
Actions:
 Limit of ten people per service
 Removed 75% of seating from all rooms
 100% mask compliance
 Hand sanitizer at all doors
 Reduce services with extensive singing and or cantorial service
 Social distance policy
 Screen installed for Baal Koreh
 Hand sanitizer distributed in all prayer rooms
 No food service or catering permitted
 Children and member not required to come have been asked not to join
 Encourage no congregating after service indoors or outdoors

4. Our response if there is a potential case, or suspected
exposure to, COVID-19 at Shul
Actions:
 Verify that there is a potential exposure
 Communication plan (email) to shul memebership advising of nature of exposure
 Review contact tracing list and directly reach out to those that may have been exposed
 Those exposed are not permited in Shul untill they are cleared by TPH or their doctor

5. Making sure your plan is working
Actions:
 Covid compliance committee (Shmuel Zimmerman, Tzodi Zlotnick, Noam Jakubovic, Dov
Uhr)
 Board of Directors oversite
 Weekly review of past weeks compliance
 Weekly review of any new regulations or government orders
 Changes to policy communicated by weekly email
